Melange for Agents

Melange evolved out of our own work into agents to address the absurd lack of the same autonomy that the name implied. Agents today have what we like to call, thin autonomy. It's a more sophisticated version of the autonomy that shell scripts or powerful expert systems have. In the mortal plane, autonomy is the freedom and capacity to make decisions and act independently. This independence directly translates into the capacity to participate in value exchanges. Melange is not only the currency of choice for companies building in AI, its also the currency of first choice for agents — much like the greenback is to oil. Melange has intrinsic and instrumental value to agents — possession of it can be a guarantee of an agent's continuity.
